Synopsis
Lucille's landowner husband Gaston is imprisoned in a German camp when the Nazi's march into the town where she lives with her imperious mother-in-law Madame Angellier. Since they have the nicest house in the village, high-ranking German officer Lt. Bruno Von Falk is quartered with them. At first both women accept this situation stoically, but Lucille begins to find herself attracted to Bruno and eventually a relationship develops between them.
