Synopsis
A group of Civil War POWS led by Gideon Spilitt escape from their prison camp in a stolen hot air balloon. They think they have it made as they cruise over America, but they're caught by an errant gust of wind that pushes them deep into the South Pacific, where the crash on an island inhabited by giant plants and man-eating crabs. They team up with the survivors of a shipwreck and learn they are all prisoners of the mad Captain Nemo, who has cooked up a plan to end world starvation.
