Synopsis
Crime Wave is the tale of struggling screenwriter Steven Penny (John Paizs), a self-styled loner who lives in a cramped studio above a suburban garage. Steven's main ambition is to be the best crime-movie scriptwriter ever. He can write great endings and beginnings, but it is the middle that refuses to materialize. Steven's plight is narrated by his landlord's ten year old daughter Kim (Eva Kovacs), a precocious little operator intent on helping Steven overcome a desperate case of writer's block. At Kim's urging, Steven hops on a bus bound for Kansas to check out a script-writing doctor...but things don't go as planned.
