Synopsis
America's most infamous maximum-security prison, Alcatraz, home to the country's most dangerous criminals, was considered to be an impenetrable fortress. In 1946, a group of prisoners, led by an armed robber and a gangster, tired of living under the thumb of the strict warden and his sadistic guards, formulated an escape plan. On May 2, their fight for freedom began as they took several guards hostage and attempted their break out. But the prisoners didn't count on the warden's determination to maintain Alcatraz's fearsome reputation. Soon they were facing not only the warden's officers but the might of a military team led by a tough general who believed in fighting fire with fire. Based on the real-life story of the Battle of Alcatraz.
