What is the Cineplex Store?
The Cineplex Store offers 1000's of new release and catalog titles from major Hollywood, Canadian and International studios. You can rent or own your favourite movies and watch them instantly on your preferred device, including Windows, Mac, Android, ROKU, Xbox 360, LG and Samsung Smart TVs. We also have 1000's of DVDs and Blu-rays of all your favourite movies and TV shows.
How do I sign up?
Simply create an account here. Next, connect your favourite device (up to 5 per household) – the full list of supported devices is here. Now you are good to go - rent or own your movie from over 7000 titles and enjoy!
What is SD vs. HD?
We want to ensure your viewing experience meets your specific needs. High Definition (HD) movies offer higher quality video and a better overall viewing experience. Standard Definition (SD) movies don't offer the same quality as HD but will download and stream using less data (bandwidth) than HD movies.
Renting from the Cineplex Store
Renting movies from the Cineplex Store provides access to your selected movie for a specific period of time. From the date of rental purchase, you have 30 days in which to watch the movie. Once you do so, you have access to the movie for 48 hours. New release SD rentals cost $4.99. New release HD rentals cost $5.99.
Buying from the Cineplex Store
Buying movies from the Cineplex Store provides permanent access to your selected movie. Purchase once, watch it as many times as you want, own it forever. Purchased content will be downloaded to your personal movie locker where you can access it anytime. Pricing varies across titles.
What is Digital Pre-Order?
You can Pre-Order digital copies of SD and HD movies from the Cineplex Store prior to the public release date. Once the movie is released to home video, the digital copy will be made available to you through your Cineplex Store account. Don't worry, you will receive an email from the Cineplex Store as soon as your digital movie is ready to watch. From within My Content, simply select your movie and start watching online or on one of our Supported Devices.
Is the Cineplex Store available outside of Canada?
No. Titles from the Cineplex Store can only be purchased or streamed within Canada. If you are receiving errors related to your location, and you are in Canada, please ensure that your device is using a Canadian IP address.
Is closed captioning available on digital movies?
Many digital movies offer closed captioning. Just look for the 'CC' symbol when selecting a title to indicate that closed captioning is available. Clicking the symbol within the video player will turn the closed captioning on or off.
What do the movie ratings mean?
We provide ratings to ensure you are selecting content that is appropriate for you and your family. The Cineplex Store uses the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) ratings. You can find more information on what these ratings mean, here.
What payment methods can I use?
When using store.cineplex.com, you can pay using MasterCard, Visa, PayPal, Cineplex Gift Card, Cineplex Store Digital Card or your SCENE points. Pre-paid credit cards are not supported. When purchasing from your preferred device, the credit card linked to your account will be billed. All transactions are in Canadian dollars. To add a credit card to your account, simply Sign In, click Settings, then select Credit Cards.
Why am I required to enter a billing address when redeeming a coupon or when paying with a SCENE or Cineplex Gift Card?
Your billing address is used to calculate the appropriate provincial taxes, even when delivering free content. To calculate this amount correctly, we need to know which province you live in.
How do I buy a digital movie?
Sign In to your Cineplex Store account. Search for the movie you want. Click the title of your chosen movie to go to the specific movie page. Select either the SD or HD button to buy or rent in the format you prefer. Click the RENT or BUY buttons to take you through the checkout process – once complete, the title will be available in your personal movie locker, under My Content.
How do I buy a DVD or Blu-Ray disc?
Sign In to your Cineplex Store account. Search for the movie you want. Click the title of your chosen movie to go to the specific movie page. If available, click on the BUY DISC tab. Click BUY and you will be taken to your cart. From there, you can proceed to checkout or continue shopping.
What Devices do you support?
The Cineplex Store is available on a growing number of devices and platforms including XBOX 360, ROKU, Smart TVs and tablets. Visit our dedicated Supported Devices page for the latest information on how to get the Cineplex Store on the device of your choice (up to 5 per account).
What is SuperTicket?
On select titles, a SuperTicket combines the theatrical movie experience of your choice (2D, 3D, D-BOX, IMAX, UltraAVX, or VIP) with the digital download of that film.
What SuperTickets are currently available?
Go to Cineplex.com/SuperTicket for a list of the latest SuperTicket offers.
After I redeem a SuperTicket, where can I find my digital copy?
Your SuperTicket digital copy can be found by logging into your Cineplex Store account, and clicking on My Content. Once the studio has released the movie for purchase, you will be able to watch or download your SuperTicket digital copy.
I'm not a SCENE member, how do I become one?
SCENE is the first and only entertainment rewards program in Canada. It is a partnership between two of Canada's best known companies, Scotiabank and Cineplex Entertainment. You can become a SCENE member, here - use your SCENE points towards purchases on the Cineplex Store.
Can I link my SCENE Card to my Cineplex Store account?
Yes - after signing in, select Settings. You can add your SCENE card number under Account Information during the check-out process. This links your SCENE card to your account for purchases from both the Cineplex Store and all Supported Devices.
Why didn't I earn SCENE points with my purchase?
Your SCENE card may not be linked to your Cineplex Store account. You can do that simply under account settings during the check-out process at CineplexStore.com. If you ordered a DVD or Blu-Ray, your order might not have shipped yet - SCENE points are only added after your order is on its way to you. Also, remember that it can take up to 24 hours for new points to be added to your SCENE balance, so your SCENE points are coming soon!
Can I purchase movies with my SCENE points?
Yes, all or part of your purchase can be made by redeeming SCENE points. Select your SCENE card during checkout and if your entire order cannot be completed with your SCENE points you must choose an additional payment method. When you select SCENE points as a payment option, the full balance of your SCENE points will be deducted up to the total value of your order.
If I make a purchase with SCENE points, will I earn SCENE points for that purchase as well?
No, you cannot earn and redeem SCENE points on the same order.
How do I earn bonus SCENE Points?
A variety of products offer regular and bonus SCENE points. If you purchase a product that is eligible for bonus points, you will be awarded both the regular plus bonus points. Remember to check the store frequently, as new promotions are added weekly. In order to earn points when making purchases on Smart TV or Roku you must first add your SCENE card on the web and then all eligible purchases on those devices will earn points.
When will I see points earned from my store purchase added to my SCENE account balance?
Points are added to your SCENE account only when your product is shipped. In-stock items normally ship within 1 business day. SCENE points from digital purchases can take up to 24 hours to be added to your SCENE account balance.
Cineplex Gift Cards
Where can I purchase Cineplex Gift Cards?
Physical and Electronic (E-Gift) Gift Cards can be purchased online at Cineplex.com or at any Cineplex Entertainment theatre box office.
Can I use multiple Cineplex Gift Cards on the same Cineplex Store order?
No. You can only apply a single Cineplex Gift Card to an order.
Where can I redeem Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards?
Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards are redeemable online in the Cineplex Store for any product. They can also be redeemed against the purchase of any admission or concession products at many Cineplex Entertainment theatre locations.
What currencies are offered for Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards?
Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards are offered in Canadian funds only and do not retain a cash value.
Can I earn SCENE points with my Gift Card purchase?
Gift Card purchases are ineligible for earning SCENE points.
Does a Cineplex Entertainment Gift Card expire?
No, Gift Cards do not expire.
How do I check my card balance?
You can check your card balance on the Gift Cards page, here. Enter your Gift Card number located on the reverse side of your card along with your PIN, found to the right of the Gift Card number. If you have not used your PIN number before, scratch your Gift Card to reveal the PIN.
What if my Gift Card doesn't have a PIN?
There may be some Cineplex Gift Cards that do not have a PIN. You can use these cards at any Cineplex Entertainment theatre. If you wish to purchase any products online, you must have a PIN and can call Guest Services at call 1-800-333-0061 to exchange your card.
How do I use my E-Gift Card?
You can print a black and white or colour copy of the E-Gift Card, or display a digital copy on any mobile device. A printed copy works exactly like a physical card.
How soon will my E-Gift Card get delivered?
All E-Gift Card orders will be delivered within minutes of the completed transaction. If your E-Gift Card is not received within 2 hours of your purchase, call 1-800-333-0061.
What if my Gift Card has been damaged, lost or stolen?
If your gift card has been damaged, lost or stolen, please e-mail Guest Services email@example.com or call 1-800-333-0061. If an E-Gift Card is lost or stolen, a replacement E-Gift Card will match the balance of your account at the time you reported your original card missing. What does it mean when I see the UltraViolet symbol?
The UltraViolet logo indicates that the title is UltraViolet enabled. If purchased digitally, or redeemed from a disc purchase, a digital copy will be created and can be streamed or downloaded through the Cineplex Store and other services that support UltraViolet.

How do I redeem an UltraViolet Blu-ray Disc or DVD in the Cineplex Store?
Search for the UltraViolet movie of your choice and click on the UltraViolet tab. Enter the UV code found on the Blu-ray or DVD disc and click Redeem. Once redeemed, the title will be added under My Content, provided you have linked your Cineplex Store and UltraViolet accounts.
Do I need both an UltraViolet account and a Cineplex Account?
Yes, your Cineplex account allows you to purchase, watch and download your movies from the Cineplex Store, storing your purchase history and SCENE membership details. UltraViolet is an online library that enables you to store UltraViolet enabled movies and enjoy all the associated benefits of Ultraviolet.
How do I create a new UltraViolet account?
You can open your free UltraViolet account at www.myuv.com or at the Cineplex Store from within My Content. You can then choose to create or link an existing UltraViolet account.
How many people can share my UltraViolet account?
You may share your UltraViolet account with up to five members of your household (Account Members), and each Member can have their own username/password log-in information.

What is Digital Copy+?
Digital Copy+ enables buyers of Disney DVDs and Blu-rays to receive the standard definition digital version of the movie Disney Digital Copy is located on a stand-alone disc and is Mac & PC compatible. For select new titles, a disc is no longer necessary for Disney Digital Copy redemption. Please check the insert inside your Blu-ray or DVD package for specific instructions.
How do I redeem my Digital Copy+ code?
Find your Digital Copy+ title of your choice and click on the Digital Copy+ tab. Enter the redemption code printed on your Blur-ray or DVD disc and click Redeem.
Which studios support Digital Copy+?
Digital Copy+ can be found with select titles from Disney, Disney – Pixar, Touchstone Home Entertainment, Marvel and Dreamworks Pictures.
How do I find a Digital Copy+ movie?
Look for the Digital Copy+ tab next to a title's purchase options, or look for the DC+ badge throughout the store.
Where do I find the Digital Copy+ code?
The code can be found on the front of the insert inside your DVD or Blu-ray package.
How many times can I use my Digital Copy code?
Your Digital Copy redemption code can be used only once. However, the code can also be used to unlock points and offers through Disney Movie Rewards, located here.

Orders, Shipping and Returns
How do I check the status of my orders?
Once you Sign In, you can select Orders from your account page or the pull-down menu under your name.
Does the Cineplex store ship internationally?
No, the Cineplex Store only ships within Canada.
How are shipping charges calculated?
Your shipping costs are based on the number of products you order unless otherwise noted. The following charges apply to most orders: DVD/Blu-Ray - $2.99 shipping cost per item | Box-set - $6.99 shipping cost per item. There is also a $0.99 handling charge for each physical Cineplex Entertainment Gift Card in your order, up to 10 cards. However, shipping and handling fees are not applied to physical Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards with a value of $50 or more.
How long will my items take to arrive?
Most in-stock items are shipped within one business day of being ordered and can take three to five business days to arrive. Shipping times can vary depending on such factors as remote locations, distance and weather conditions. Please note, if you have ordered a Cineplex Entertainment Gift Card along with a Blu-ray or DVD order, you will receive your gift card separately.
Some of my purchased items are on back order – what does that mean?
Your back ordered items will be shipped to you as soon as they become available, to the address you provided when making your purchase. If your order contains a mix of in-stock and back ordered items, the in-stock items ship immediately. If you used SCENE points or a Cineplex Entertainment Gift Card, the cost of your purchase is also deducted immediately. Credit cards are charged once the back ordered items ship. Shipping charges for all items are calculated at the time of purchase, and there will be no additional shipping charges for back ordered items. You will receive SCENE points for all back ordered items when those items ship.
How do I cancel a Blu-ray or DVD purchase?
Provided that your order has not shipped, please call 1-800-333-0061 to cancel your order.
How do I cancel a Pre-Order item?
If you do wish to cancel an item you have pre-ordered, you must do so within five days of the item's release date. Please call 1-800-333-0061 to cancel your pre-ordered items.
Which items can I return?
You may return defective or damaged items within 30 days of receipt of your order. Your shipping charges will be refunded, provided Canada Post was the chosen carrier. Shipping charges from other carriers cannot be refunded unfortunately. Defective or damaged items will be replaced with the same item, or refunded if no replacement is available. You may return un-opened items within 30 days of receipt of your order. Your shipping charges will not be refunded, however.
Can I return digital items?
Cineplex Store understands that mistakes can happen. If you have ordered a digital title in error, or are experiencing issues with playback, a Guest Services representative will be pleased to try and resolve your concern. Please e-mail email@example.com or call 1-800-333-0061.
How do I start a return?
Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-800-333-0061 to obtain your Return Authorization Number (RA#). If you have sent an e-mail, please include your order number and the reason you are returning the item(s). Package the items for return with the original sales receipt. Clearly print the RA# on the outside of the envelope along with the following address: Cineplex Entertainment Store, Unit#1, 70 Driver Road, Brampton, ON., L6T 5V2. Your return will be processed within 10 business days of receipt of the returned item(s). If you were returning damaged item(s), a replacement will be sent to you. If you returned unopened item(s), your credit card will be refunded.
How are SCENE points refunded?
If you used SCENE points to pay for your item(s) in full or in part, those SCENE points will be refunded within 10 business days of receipt of the returned item(s).
How do I remove my PayPal account?
Login to your Cineplex Store account, and from the Settings tab, select Digital Purchases. From there, you can remove your PayPal account by clicking on the word Delete.
How do I change my Cineplex Store email address?
Sign In to your Cineplex Store account, and from the Settings tab, select Digital Purchases. From there, you can remove your PayPal account by clicking on the word "Delete".
I would like to recover my password.
Forgot your password? From the Cineplex Store Sign In page, select Forgot Password. Enter your Cineplex Store account email address and click on the Send Password button. A temporary password will be emailed to you.
How do I change my Cineplex Store email address?
Sign In to your Cineplex Store account, and from the Settings tab, select Account Information. Simply delete your current email address and type in your new one along with your current password, and click on Save Profile Changes. Your email address is now updated and you can start using it the next time you login to your Cineplex Store account.

How do I setup the Cineplex Store on my iOS iPhone/iPad/Touch?
Download the Cineplex Store app from the iTunes store, here. Once installed you will need to Sign In with your Cineplex Store account. If you do not yet have an account, you will need to create one online first, here. At this time you can only watch or download movies from within the iOS app that have already been purchased or rented online. To browse, rent, or buy, please visit store.cineplex.com.
Why can't I search for movies in the iOS Cineplex Store App?
At this time, the iOS app only supports watching or downloading movies, already purchased online at the Cineplex Store. It does not support search or purchase.
How do I rent or purchase a movie using the iOS Cineplex Store App?
The iOS app does not support purchase. If you would like to rent or buy a movie, you can make your purchase online first at, store.cineplex.com . Once the movie appears in My Content, you can watch, download or cast it from your iPhone/iPad/iTouch Cineplex Store app.
I logged into the Cineplex Store app for the first time on my iOS iPhone/iPad/Touch and see only a black screen.
You have not yet rented or purchased a movie from the Cineplex Store so My Content will appear empty.
Can I AirPlay a movie from my iOS iPhone/iPad/Touch to my TV?
At this time we do not support AirPlay/Mirroring with your Apple Device; this includes using an external cable from your Apple device to another display, such as your TV.
How do I setup the Cineplex Store on my Android Phone/Tablet?
Download the Cineplex Store app from Google Play, here. Once installed you can start searching or browsing content. To rent or buy, you will be prompted to Sign In to your Cineplex Store account. If you do not yet have an account, you will need to create one online first, here.
How do I get the Android App in French?
There is a separate Cineplex Store App in French available for download on Google Play, here.
I received a Device Registration Error. What do I do?
The Cineplex Store allows up to 5 devices connected to your account at one time. If you exceed this amount, a Device Registration Error will occur. You will need to disconnect one of your devices by signing into your Cineplex Store account, and clicking on Devices.
PC & Mac
I'm trying to stream on a Mac; where did my movie go?
Your video may be hidden behind a window that pops up when you hit Watch. This is an issue we are working to correct in a future release.
My web browser is saying my system is not compatible.
If your browser is displaying a System Compatibility Error, confirm that your system meets the current System Requirements for the Silverlight player, here. Once certain your system is compatible, follow the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Clear browser cookies. Your browser may be referencing an outdated or corrupted setting in the cookie file.
2. Restart your browser. Sometimes restarting your browser can clear this issue. Close your browser, restart it, sign back into your Cineplex Store account and play your movie again.
3. Try another browser. Your browser plug-in may be causing this error. Try playing your movie in another browser.
My movie seems slow and choppy.
There are a number of factors that can slow video playback. For better results, try a direct connection to the Internet instead of a wireless connection. Also, trying to limit the number of devices and applications using the same internet connection within your household.
How do I completely remove a Mac or Windows PC as a device?
Sign In to your Cineplex Store account, and find your preferred device under the Devices tab. Click Remove. You must also uninstall the Cineplex Download Manager on the Mac or Windows PC you just removed.
What is Silverlight?
Silverlight is a Microsoft application. The Silverlight plugin is available for some browsers and supports streaming of media. The Silverlight media player plug-in allows you to access to our digital movie content and trailers through the Cineplex Store website and watch online.
How do I uninstall Silverlight?
To uninstall previous versions of Silverlight, visit Microsoft's Removing Silverlight support page.
What is the Cineplex Download Manager?
The Cineplex Download Manager is a media player that you download directly to your computer. Once installed, you can download SD movies from the Cineplex Store onto your computer and watch using the Cineplex Download Manager. Downloading eliminates issues related to streaming and/or buffering as you are no longer streaming over a Wi-Fi connection.
I downloaded an HD movie but am unable to open it with the Cineplex Download Manager.
At this time, only SD movies can be played using the Cineplex Download Manager. You will need to download your selection in SD quality. If you are unable to access the SD movie, please call Guest Services at 1-800-333-0061 for help downloading the file.
My Cineplex Download Manager has an error that I must reinstall my video player. What do I do?
You must uninstall Microsoft Silverlight from your Mac or Windows PC and then Sign In to your Cineplex Store account. Select any title and click Watch. You will be prompted to install Microsoft Silverlight and the video player again.
I want to download a movie to my Mac. How do I install the Cineplex Store Download Manager from Safari?
1. In Safari, open Preferences.
2. In Preferences, go to the Security tab and select Website Settings under Internet plug-ins.
3. Select Silverlight on the left panel and the website, store.cineplex.com on the right. Change the dropdown from Allow to Run in Safe Mode. Select Done.
4. Now, select the Download button on your desired movie from within My Content. Follow the on-screen instructions from our website.
5. Once the Download Manager is downloaded, the first time you open it hold down CTRL and select Open. Accept the on screen pop-ups. Each subsequent time you open the Download Manager you will be able to open it normally.
I can't purchase on my Smart TV.
Make sure that you are signed in to the device with your Cineplex Store account. Also ensure that there is a valid credit card attached to that account. Currently, you cannot use Gift Cards or SCENE points to purchase from a device.
What Gaming Consoles do you support?
The Cineplex Store app is available on Xbox 360. The Xbox One app is coming soon.
How do I connect my XBOX 360 to my Cineplex Store account?
Once logged into your XBOX Live account, from the XBOX 360 dashboard, navigate to Apps. Select the Cineplex Store app to begin downloading. Sign in using your Cineplex Store username and password.
Media Streaming Devices
What is casting?
Casting allows you to watch online movies, websites and more from your phone tablet or computer to your TV with Google Chromecast. Watch for the cast icon.
I already have the Cineplex Store App on my Phone/Tablet. How can I cast?
There is an update for the Cineplex Store App for both iOS and Android. Once the App has updated, you will be able to watch Cineplex Store movies using your Chromecast and Phone/Tablet.
Can I view movies in HD on Chromecast?
Yes. If you've rented an HD movie, playback on Chromecast will be in HD, even if your phone isn't capable of HD playback.
I lost my SuperTicket Digital Download Voucher. What should I do?
Cineplex cannot replace SuperTicket codes that have been lost, stolen, or used without permission. If you purchased your SuperTicket online at Cineplex.com, your SuperTicket has been saved to your Cineplex account. Visit Cineplex.com and click on "LOG IN" to access your account. Once logged in, select "Manage Profile" and click on Ticket Order History. You can view your previously purchased SuperTicket(s) here!
I didn't keep my theatrical ticket but I still want to upgrade to a SuperTicket. What should I do?
If you purchased your theatre ticket online at Cineplex.com, a copy of your admission ticket has been saved to your Cineplex account. Visit Cineplex.com and click on "LOG IN" to access your account. Once logged in, select "Manage Profile" and click on Ticket Order History. You should now see an option to "UPGRADE TO SUPERTICKET" (applicable titles only). Note, the upgrade option will only be made available for 48 hours after showtime.
