Question 1: What currencies are offered for Cineplex Gift Cards?

Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards are offered in Canadian funds.

Question 2: How soon will my E-Gift Card get delivered?

All E-Gift Card orders will be delivered within minutes of the completed transaction. If your E-Gift Card is not received within 2 hours of your purchase, please e-mail us at cineplex@buyatab.com or contact storehelp@cineplex.com who will assist you.

Question 3: As the purchaser what will I receive?

You will receive an email including a link to your receipt and a confirmation of delivery.

Question 4: Are there any fees associated with an E-Gift Card?

No. You will only be charged the face value of the E-Gift Card and we will not impose shipping or any other fees at any time.

Question 5: Can I earn SCENE points when purchasing a gift card?

Gift Cards purchases are ineligible for earning SCENE points. DVD, Bluray and download purchases earn Scene points every time.

Question 6: Can I reload my gift card?

Yes. You can reload your Gift Card at any Cineplex Entertainment theatre box office or guest services desk.

Question 7: What are the terms and conditions for Gift Cards?

  • Gift cards can be used at the Cineplex Store to purchase any product. They can also be used towards the purchase of any admission, concession item or merchandise at any Cineplex Entertainment theatre including Cineplex Odeon, Scotiabank, SilverCity, Colossus, Coliseum, Galaxy or Cinema City.
  • Gift cards hold cash value. Please safeguard them as you would cash.
  • Each card design is available while quantities last.
  • Gift cards can be reloaded at any Cineplex Entertainment theatre.
  • Gift cards are not redeemable at Alliance Atlantis Cinemas.
  • A nominal fee will be charged to your plastic gift card order and can be found in the order summary area called Gift Card Processing / Handling Fee. This includes shipping fees.
  • Question 8: Do Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards have any expiry date?

    Cineplex Gift Cards and E-Cards have no expiry date.

    Question 9: What if I lose my gift card after I receive it?

    Always treat your Gift Card like cash. Neither the Card nor its value is replaceable or refundable if lost, stolen or used without permission. In the event that your card is lost or stolen, immediately contact Customer Service at storehelp@cineplex.com

    Question 10: My gift card is damaged. What can I do?

    If your Cineplex Gift Card is damaged, contact storehelp@cineplex.com who will assist you.

    Question 11: What if my E-Gift Card is lost, stolen or I have a question after my purchase?

    What if my E-card is lost, stolen or I have a question after my purchase? A: You are encouraged to contact our Gift Card Customer Support team for any questions or concerns at 1-888-785-1533 or by email at cineplex@buyatab.com or storehelp@cineplex.com who will assist you. *If an E-Gift Card is lost or stolen a replacement E-Gift Card will match the balance of your account at the time you reported your original card missing. The replacement E-Gift Card will be sent to you at no additional cost.

    Question 12: How do I use my E-Gift Card?

    Simply display a printed copy of the E-Gift Card or a digital copy on any mobile device for redemption.

    Question 13: Where can I purchase Cineplex Gift Cards?

    Question 14: Can I pay for other store products using my Cineplex Gift Card?

    You can complete your purchase by using a credit card, Cineplex Gift Card, redeeming SCENE points, or any combination of these methods.

    Question 15: What if the balance left on my gift card isn't enough to pay for the whole order?

    The Cineplex Store is pleased to offer the convenience of more than one payment method. Once you have finished shopping and proceed to checkout you will arrive at the Payment Information page where you will be prompted to select up to 3 payment methods. You can use any amount on your Cineplex Gift Card up to and including the full amount required to pay for the entire order. If the balance on your Gift Card is not enough to pay for your entire order, you may pay for the balance with either your credit card or SCENE points or a combination of both!

    Question 16: Where can Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards be redeemed?

    Cineplex Entertainment Gift Cards are redeemable online in the Cineplex Store for any product. They can also be redeemed against the purchase of any admission or concession, products at any Cineplex Entertainment theatre including Cineplex Odeon, Famous Players, Galaxy Cinemas, SilverCity, StarCité , Coliseum, Colisée, Colossus, Cinema City or Scotiabank theatres. Cineplex Gift Cards are not redeemable at Alliance Atlantis Cinemas.

    Question 17: I want to buy Cineplex Gift Cards online. How can I pay for them?

    You can complete your purchase by using either a credit card or redeeming SCENE points (plastic cards only).

    Question 18: Where can I redeem my E-Gift Card?

    E-Gift cards are redeemable at the same places as Cineplex plastic Gift Cards are: Cineplex theatre box offices, concession and online at Cineplex.com.

    Question 19: When will my Cineplex Gift Card(s) be shipped?

    Cineplex Gift Cards are normally shipped the next business day from receipt of order and usually arrive within 3-5 business days from date of shipment. If your Cineplex store order contains Gift Cards and DVD's or Blu-ray's, the Gift Cards will be shipped separately.

    Question 20: I delivered an E-Gift Card to my friend's Facebook wall and they are able to view it but I cannot?

    This occurs based on your friends' privacy settings. Your friend must adjust their Facebook privacy settings to allow friends to post on their timeline page.

    Question 21: Can I let someone else use my E-Gift Card?

    Yes, email it to a friend or print it and hand deliver it to them.

    Question 22: My Gift Card doesn't have a PIN on the back right corner. What can I do?

    There may be some Cineplex Gift Cards that do not have a PIN. You can use cards without PIN's at any Cineplex Entertainment theatre. If you wish to purchase any products online you must have a PIN for security purposes. To ensure you can enjoy the convenience of online gift card purchasing in future, please contact customer service at storehelp@cineplex.com. They will be pleased to exchange your current Gift Card with a card that has a PIN.

    Question 23: Do I have to print my E-Gift Card in color or use a specific type of printer?

    Standard office and home printers are equipped to produce great results in printing E-Gift Cards and you are not required to print in color.

    Question 24: How do I check my card balance?

    When you are ready to complete your online purchase, you can check your card balance on the payment information page. You will be prompted to enter your Gift Card number located on the back side of your card along with your PIN found to the right of the gift card number. If you have not used your PIN number before, you will need to scratch the card to reveal the PIN. You can also call 1-800-544-7573.

    Question 25: Does an E-Gift Card expire?

    No. There is no expiration date for any E-Gift Cards.

    Question 26: Some of my products are on back order or have been pre-ordered. Will my Cineplex Gift Card be charged for the full order now?

    If you used your Cineplex Gift Card for part or all of your online purchase, your Gift Card balance will be immediately deducted.

    Question 27: How are customers protected against fraud?

    Customer sales representatives contact all customers placing gift card orders that exceed $500 in order to protect all parties from risk of fraud.

    Question 28: How do my shipping costs get calculated?

    Gift cards are shipped separately from DVDs and Blu-rays. You will be charged $0.99 for shipping and handling for each card in your order up to 10 cards. Shipping and handling fees are not applied to gift cards worth $50 or more.

    Question 29: I delivered an e-Gift Card to my friend's Facebook wall and they are able to view it but I cannot?

    This occurs based on your friends' privacy settings. Your friend must adjust their Facebook privacy settings to allow friends to post on their timeline page.

    Question 30: If I choose to have an E-Gift Card delivered by Facebook will other users be able to see the amount?

    No. The wall post will only notify the intended recipient of the E-Gift Card and the total value. Others will not be able to view the amount of the E-Gift Card.

    Question 31: When the E-Gift-Card is posted on recipients' Facebook wall, will others have access to the Card?

    Absolutely not. Only the recipient will be able to click on the post and access their E-Gift Card. Facebook has the ability to identify between the intended recipient and the recipients friends.
